"we are all in the gutter but some of us are looking at the stars” Oscar Wilde // Rose, 20
When through the woods, and forest glades I wander,
And hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees.
When I look down, from lofty mountain grandeur
And see the brook, and feel the gentle breeze. Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art.
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art!
Sometimes I’ll just stare at the same picture for a few minutes. And if I can picture each and every brush stroke on the canvas laying out the beautiful colors, I know I can paint it. I don’t always have draw it first. All I need is the picture, the brushes, and the paint and Ta-da there’s a wonderful painting before my eyes. I don’t always need a picture though, because I can always use my mind. Mostly I do landscapes, nature, animals, birds, fantasy, and anime. On rare occasions I’ll through in a building or two. Just depends on where my imagination will take me.
If every find me on your page mostly liking things, but not rebloging it’s probably because I’m thinking of where I can take the picture.
I often ask myself these questions:
• how do the colors complement everything?
• how can I paint that tree or that house?
• If you were to by a picture, would this interest you?
• what colors would you use to make that one specific one?
• how does everything look as a whole?
• should I draw it, paint it, pencil it, charcoal it, or pastel it?
These are all very crucial questions to ask yourself. Especially the last one. It’s always important to know what medium you will use, so that you know what other materials you will need.
Mediums:
Drawing it - paper, pencils, erasers
Painting it (oil, acrylic, or watercolor) - canvas, paints, brushes, water, paper towel or rag or cloth
Pencil it - colored pencils, paper
Charcoal it - paper (heavy/thick), charcoal, rag or cloth
Pastel it - pastels (chalk or oil pastels), paper (heavy/thick)
I may only be 15, but I know a lot about art. I’ve been taking art lessons under the same teacher for 10 years. That’s a long time, although I’ve learned a lot.
(( feel free to ask me questions about art. Sometimes I take art requests))
Can somebody just please draw the ouran highschool host club version of Abbey Road!?

I’m actually looking for more people to follow since my dash is always dead, so if your blog is a good mixture of (and not two or three, close to at least five or more):
A work of art which did not begin in emotion is not art.
“Sketchy art styles are cheap because they just fool your mind into seeing the outline you like best”
You mean like how shading fools you into seeing depth and pose conveys motion that isn’t there? You mean like ART?
ART IS SO CHEAP IT FOOLS YOU INTO SEEING THINGS THAT DON’T EXIST
DOWN WITH REPRESENTATION
UP WITH THE CRUSHING UNCERTAINTY OF MODERN LIFE
SKETCHING IS JUST A CHEAP TACTIC TO MAKE WEAK ART STRONGER
One time I tipped an artist I hired for a commission and they cried. They said I was the first person who had ever tipped them in their almost 2 years of selling commissions. They were so shocked that I liked their art enough to leave a tip. They said they never felt like their art was that good, or that their customers weren’t really happy with their art, until that moment. So, seriously, tip the fucking artists you hire for a fucking commission.
